Hot 26

Our Hot 26 Yoga class (Bikram Yoga) is a perfect class if you are completely new to Yoga or if you are an experienced Yoga goer. Its a static class (which means that you will not ‘flow’ from one posture to the next) and there are less weight bearing postures (e.g. no downward facing dogs). The Hot 26 class is great if you want to build strength and flexibility, develop muscle tone and can help with weight loss.

The same postures and breathing exercises are done in each class. Each posture stretches, strengthens and prepares the body for the next to maximise oxygenation and detoxification; all together they work every part of the body. The beauty of practising the same movements in every class means you are able to see how your body is changing over time.

Why the heat? Will it be too hot? We get asked this all the time! The Hot 26 is practised in a room heated to around 40°C. The heat warms up the body allowing you to stretch into the asanas safely while at the same time aiding detoxification and increasing the cardiovascular element of the class.

There are numerous benefits from a regular Hot Yoga practice, including weight loss, improved muscle tone, strength and flexibility, reduced back/knee pain, better concentration and focus and lower stress levels. The class is suitable for all levels from complete beginners to advanced students. Be prepared to sweat and have fun!

Hot 26 classes are 90 minutes long. All ability levels welcome. Classes are held in a heated room (temperature 40 – 41.5 °C). These classes are without music.

Note: The 60 minute Bikram express class has the same postures as the 90 minute class but practiced in 60 minutes therefore more suitable to experienced practitioners.

Inferno Hot Pilates

Our new Inferno Hot Pilates class combines pilates and high intensity interval training (HIIT) to create a unique class focusing on developing strength and stamina. Bringing together traditional asanas (poses) from Yoga with gym-style interval training, we will use a mixture of holding and pulsing movements to work on core and upper body strength, increase endurance and stamina, as well as promote flexibility and coordination. Expect lunges, squats and planks! Heat is added to create a cardio level intensity to the class. This class is perfect for everyone regardless of ability or experience. Expect to work hard and have fun — and leave feeling energized!

If you are a regular gym or CrossFit trainer, then this class is perfect to help create balance and add some flexibility training to the mix. If you practise Yoga and are struggling with developing core strength this is also a great option for you. Different options will be provided to allow you to work at the level that’s right for you.

I.H.P classes are 60 minutes long. All ability levels welcome. Classes are held in a heated room (temperature 34-35 °C). Music is played in these classes.

Yin Yoga

So what exactly is Yin yoga? Yin Yoga focuses on passive stretches, holding asanas (postures) for 3-5 minutes each to work gently into muscles and connective tissues, and allowing the mind to slow down. Yin Yoga releases stress, elongates muscles that we often ignore, and creates balance to our more vigorous yang practice. This class is designed to increase flexibility and joint mobility. We will stretch from head to toe while finding a bit of focus, patience and release in the mind as well as the body. Yin Yoga is particularly helpful during times of stress and fatigue and is the perfect complement all our other Yoga classes. It’s also perfect for you if you run or cycle a lot and suffer from stiffness in your lower back. From stressed students to athletes seeking greater flexibility or beginners who have never put a foot on a yoga mat, this type of Yoga will help you release mind and body. Props are used in this class to help support the body while in postures to aid release and relaxation.

Krama Flow Yoga

The word Krama means intention, purpose.

Rather than performing each asana as an independent pose disconnected from the whole, vinyasa Krama mimics the flowing energy of the Universe.

Integrating teachings from both Hatha & Vinyasa traditions, Krama flow is an harmonious balance between asanas, breath awareness and precise alignment that allows the energy in the body to flow more fluidly, simply leaving you to enjoy a feeling of deep nourishment, inner space and connection within body, mind & spirit.

Some yoga experience is essential for this class.
